Learn how to plan, organise and run your own events. From fundraising evenings, to rock concerts, this course will go through the practicalities of putting on an event. Covering topics from fundraising and finance, health and safety, advertising, through to venue hire and staffing your event. This course will set you up with the practical skills and knowledge to make your event planning successful.
Music Production
Ever wanted to record your own cd? This music production course covers a multitude of music production areas from live recording to programming. You will work alongside experienced producers with a wealth of music industry and recording experience. As well as having an opportunity to produce your own cd, you can also work on radio promo's that will air live on our FM radio station - Cross Rhythms Teesside (107.1fm in the Teesside area).
Introduction To The Internet
This course gives the user a grounding in the modern world of the internet. Looking at everything from setting the internet up on your home computer, through to email accounts and general web browsing to make the user a rounded and complete user of all the benefits the internet has to offer.
Web Design
Introduction to web design courses which will see users produce and publish their own website. Courses can be tailored to suit key skills education in Maths, English and ICT can be covered, as well as printable portfolio work for outside accreditation.
Video Production & Editing
We offer practical video production and editing workshops that use the highest professional standard editing software and powerful apple macintosh computers. Our workshops aim to give an introduction into the world of multimedia and video production, through to advanced classes in video editing. Our courses can be tailored for all ages and skill sets, be you a school looking to teach key skills education through video projects, or a community group wishing to equip users with a professional skill.
DJ/MC Workshops
DJ and MC courses designed for young people at risk of becoming excluded or are currently excluded from mainstream school.
There are multiple variations of the course which can be adapted to meet specific needs. Our most popular form is an Asdan accredited 10 week course:
Each student will develop their own portfolio of work which will be accredited through Asdan's 'Expressive Arts Award' and a HSE approved Health and Safety qualification. The course captures the attention of young people through their love for DJ'ing and MC'ing, while developing Key Skills through the ten-week programme culminating in a Music Club Night.
Users will explore Event Management, Budgeting, Health and Safety, Publicity for the event, Producing CD's, Drug and Alcohol policies, being a responsible citizen (liaising with the Police) and Developing entrepreneurial skills.
